RIVER BLACKWATER 7^th APRIL 2002

The 2002 River Blackwater tour from KELVEDON (mr TL860 180) near Grey's Mill to LANGFORD (mr TL836 091) is about 13km. with 4 portages around mills on the way.

Guide to the river Blackwater

• - IT IS SHALLOW IN PARTS WHEN THERE IS NO RAIN.
• - IT CAN BE DANGEROUS IN SPATE.
• - CHECK COURSE BRIEFING ON THE DAY.
• - ALL ENTRANTS ARE TO ENSURE THEIR PARTY IS CAPABLE.

This tour has been arranged with the specific agreement of all the landowners.

No other access has been agreed for 2002.

ACCESS IS SENSITIVE. - PARK TIDILY AT AND BEYOND THE STARTING POINT at the meeting place.

The entry to the river will only be via the white rails along the roadside. So boats are to be carried back to the startpoint during the car shuttle & please watch the flowers!

Respect property on the way, leaving the lunch stop area clean and tidy, and change discretely in the Langford village hall car park.

Meet time :- 10am please be prepared to help to shuttle cars (takes about 45 mins)

Start time :- 11am sharp

Finish time:- 3-3:30pm

FEES (for expenses, touring fund)..£3:50/£2:00 (ad/child)(inc. BCU insurance)

BCU members(with card)................£2:50/£1:50 (ad/child) must be personal members

(Children & Scouts are welcome with their own adult supervision)

LIMIT:- FIRST 50 TO CONFIRM ONLY
