DART TRIP Feb 2005

Heading towards the bunkhouse, we’d like to point out that Ray and Andrew can be relied upon to come to the aid of anyone who is lost, even if they think they are not. With the vaguest of descriptions of current surroundings and the menu being consumed, Ray and Andrew are able to locate and collect people who have deviated from the expected route.

The Friday night was first spent in the pub and then in the bunkhouse. Most of the night Lee was providing entertainment by singing songs such as heads, shoulders, knees and toes, and Bingo was his name O, along with many other sing along camp fire songs such as that. At first there was not much enthusiasm (apart from Lees) though in the hope of raising moral the singing got louder which provoked people into joining in.

The toilet doors were of an interesting length. The large gap at the bottom of each door meant that the occupant could be clearly seen and identified, like this:

However, we would like to make a suggestion that would assist in allowing occupants to conceal their identity should they so wish:
The use of a carrier bag like this:

Saturday night saw Toby stuffing loins vigorously while Sally watched. Lee took photos of this. Saturday night was surprisingly eventful considering many people went to bed exceptionally early compared to the night before. Everyone enjoyed great food in which everyone pitched in making, under close supervision from Richard.

In between courses of dinner a friendly game of pick up cutlery was initiated, which quickly became rather competitive. Rules were devised for when the game becomes an international and Olympic sport. A time limit was introduced until the time keeper fell asleep, and the Emmett stance was used frequently. The game resulted in a close finish, though Toby won, bearing 13 pieces of cutlery. This was probably due to the finger exercises which he did during the preparation of dinner.

It seems that at international level, after unmarked cases of cutlery being carefully chosen by randomly selected members of the public, contestants should be given blindfolds and headphones and be placed in isolation booths, naked and hairless while their opponents take their move. Possible suggestions for first contestants at this level are Ray, Lee, Toby and Andrew.

Canoeing trip equipment: It is important to remember things like waterproof mascara, two pairs of earrings; evening: large hoops, daytime: small stud type, (any colour) but preferably should match cagoule or canoe, or person who will be paddling beside you. It’s all about standards. Some of us got it very wrong, nothing matched at all. No colour co-ordination, however very impressed with baby blue romper suits. Very sensible and cosy. Wonder if they do them in pink? To assist paddlers with their future packing please refer to photo below:

Oh yes, paddling was good.
